I was reading my friend Brittany's blog the other day, she had just posted the cutest thing. She had answered a bunch of questions about her and husband, things you probably would never know about them but were fun to read. As I got to the end she posted the people that she had now 'tagged', and there was my name. So I am supposed to answer the same questions that she did. Hopefully you will enjoy reading this, maybe you will even learn something new about us that you didn't already know!

What is your spouses name? Paul

How long have you been together? Our first date was August 17, 2001. We were married on December 28th that same year. So we just celebrated our 6th anniversary, I can't imagine my life without him!

Who eats more? I would love to say that Paul does since he is the guy. But sadly I have a pretty low maintainence husband when it comes to food and we probably eat about the same.

Who said 'I Love You' first? I think he did, but I am not even sure, the details on that one are kinda fuzzy.

Who is taller? Paul by about 8 inches

Who is smarter? Depends on the subject.

Who does the laundry? Definitely me. . .I am not sure Paul knows how our washer and dryer even work.

Who does the dishes? If you count putting them in the sink 'to soak' doing the dishes, then Paul is your man. But if you want them any cleaner than that, I usually have to do them.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? I do. I remember we both wanted that side when we first got married. I'm not sure how it all went down, but I guess I won because I have been sleeping there ever since.

Who pays the bills? Paul does

Who mows the lawn? Paul does. He is awesome at doing all the outside work around the house!

Who cooks dinner? I do, except the occassional grilled cheese sandwich or Navajo tacos if I really beg. Those are his 2 specialties.

Who drives when you are together? Paul always does, I like it that way. I even bribe him with back and foot rubs when we are on road trips just so I don't have to take my turn.

Who is more stubborn? I think that is for sure me. When I get my mind set on something, it is hard for me to 'see it another way'.

Who kissed who first? Paul claims that I kissed him, but it totally didn't happen that way. I think he just says that to get me all fired up.

Who asked who out first? Neither of us really. My brother Darin and his wife Sarah set it up for us. They told us when and where to be, we all hung out together one night, and the rest is history.

Who proposed? Paul did. . .I NEVER would have done something like that. . .I am way too shy.

Who has more siblings? I do - there are 8 in my family and 4 in his

Who wears the pants? This is a risky one to answer. . .I think we both have our moments.

Dylan

I know we are only half way through January, but is it too early to be wishing for warm weather?? We have had really cold weather here this week so we have spent all our time inside and I am itching to be able to spend some time in the sun. Dylan is growing so fast, it is so fun to watch him learn new things each day. He is getting good at sitting up, and can do it all by himself for a couple seconds. But then usually leans over to grab and suck on his toes, throws himself all off balance and falls over. I was trying to get a good picture of him sitting on the couch. I didn't quite accomplish that, but got some really cute ones of him tipping over.
I am trying to get brave and start Dylan on some rice cereal this week. He is starting to watch my food very closely with every bite I take and really likes the little pieces of cracker that I give him to suck on. So I know he is ready. It is just too easy for me to continue with milk only diet! I know once I start the food, I can't go back. So I have to make sure I am ready for the mess of learning how to eat! Maybe next week we'll have some 'first food' pictures to share.

Sleeping Woes

I have decided to steal my sister-in-law Sarah's idea and try to update our blog every Sunday night. This is a good day to sit down and recap everything that has happened during the week. I have no idea what I will write about each Sunday, as life at our house doesn't seem to change a whole lot. My days are full of feedings, diaper changes, naps (or the lack there of), and lots of smiles, laughs, and fun play time with Dylan. Hopefully this will force me to get out and do something fun each week so that I will have something to tell you about!
This week Paul and I were talking about the fact that it has been 4 1/2 months since we have had a nice full night's rest. Dylan was finally starting to sleep a little better around 3 months only to digress and actually get worse over the last few weeks. We had one of the worst nights ever last Sunday. I think we maybe got about 3 hours of sleep in between the all night crying. But I am proud to report that in only a weeks time since that horrible night, he has been sleeping 10-11 hours almost every night since! He goes down at night without crying at all anymore and sleeps like an angel all the way until morning. So for the first time in 4 1/2 months we have actually gone to bed and not woken up until morning. This probably seems like a dumb thing for me to be writing about, but this has been quite a milestone at our house. Anyone who has kids can relate I am sure. So hopefully this is the beginning of many more restful nights for us.

Holidays

It is crazy to think that the holiday season has already come and gone. It always seems to be so hectic that after it is all over you can hardly remember what you did. We took a trip to Utah this year to be with family for Christmas. Dylan had his first airplane ride on Christmas Eve. We were a little nervous about how he would do, but he proved to be an excellent flyer falling asleep as we lifted off and not waking up until baggage claim. We stayed at Grandma and Grandpa's house where there were plenty of aunts and uncles around to spoil Dylan by holding and playing with him every second we were there. He loved all the attention! We also got to see Paul's parents and sister while we were in town which was nice. We spent our trip watching movies, playing games, bowling, and being lazy. Paul and I had our first ever evening out together without Dylan. We got to sit courtside at the Jazz game while Grandma stayed home to babysit. Thanks to Robbie and Amy for taking us to the game! Thanks also to Robbie and Amy for hosting our New Year's Eve party. We partied all night long in their new house. We played Rock Band, the Wii, and watched a movie in their theater room. We all crawled into bed at about 4 am that morning (including Grandma and Grandpa). I don't remember the last time we stayed up that late! We had a blast on our trip, we are always so excited to spend time with family.
2007 was a great year for us. It was filled with so many blessings. We are grateful for such wonderful family and friends, and of course this year we are especially grateful for our sweet little Dylan. He brings so much happiness to us each day, we love having him in our family. We look forward to the coming year and all the new memories we will make!

Delivering Christmas Goodies

We went out a few days before Christmas to deliver goodies to our neighbors. It was a whopping 20 degrees outside, so we had to bundle up good. We spent about 30 minutes walking up and down our street, and Dylan was still warm when we got home believe it our not!

Blessing Weekend

I am just learning how to smile. Everyone worked really hard to try and make me do it for the pictures. Maybe next time. . .

I was blessed by my dad on October 14th. He did a really good job. I was really good too, I didn't even cry. A lot of my family came to share the special day with me. Both of my Grandmas and Grandpas were here, my Aunt Amy and Uncle Robbie, & Aunt Janell. We had a really fun weekend!

I am not a huge fan of my swing. But once in a while I will take a nap in it if my mom is lucky!
