Santa came to Paul's parents house on Christmas Eve to bring all the grandkids gifts. Dylan wouldn't sit on his lap for a picture but would sit next to him. But I couldn't get him to even look towards the camera because he was too intrigued by the whole Santa getup. Looks like Santa had a little too many cookies already by the time he made it to our house. His 'bowl full of jelly' belly was busting out of his suit! The capri pants with cowboy boots totally completed the outfit too. Hopefully the kids didn't notice. :)
Dylan LOVED all the Christmas decorations and we spent the entire trip trying to stop him from undecorating the tree.

He really got into the presents this year. He loved ripping off all the wrapping paper. He got this little car garage and has already logged a lot of hours playing with it.
Dylan has all of the sudden really gotten into books lately. I am surprised at how long he will sit and 'read' before he gets distracted to do something else. They had a little rocking chair at their house that was just his size - he thought he was such a big boy sitting in it to look at his books. You could tell he was so proud of himself. It was pretty cute to watch him!
On the way home we split up our trip into 2 days. We drove up to Utah and stayed with my parents for a night and then went home the next day. It was fun to see some of my family too even though it was only for a few short hours! We had a great time, but are glad to be back home sleeping in our own beds (especially Dylan. . . .he DID NOT sleep well while we were gone) and getting back into the normal routine of life.
